Free AI visibility check
Free AI visibility checker. Does AI recommend you?
In short: Claire’s free AI visibility checker asks Google’s Gemini up to 18 questions your customers ask when they look for a provider like you, live and with web search. You then see which answers name you, whom the AI recommends instead and how to close the gaps. It takes about four minutes and costs nothing.

How the check works
Real buying questions, asked live.
Some checkers only scan your website or let a model guess. Claire actually asks the AI, with your customers’ questions, and counts who shows up in the answers.
At a glance
What the check asks and what it costs you, as of October 2026:
| Free check | |
|---|---|
| AI assistant | Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash, with web search. If Gemini is down, OpenAI’s GPT-4.1-mini answers instead. |
| Questions | Up to 18 buying questions from your market, up to 3 of them your own |
| Competitors | Taken from the same answers, plus up to 3 of your own |
| Time | About 4 minutes |
| Cost | None, no account and no credit card |
| You need | Website, brand name, work email address |
Your website and your market
Claire reads your website and researches your company on the web: what you offer, for whom and where. She detects the country and language of the questions herself, and you can set both if you prefer.
Your customers’ buying questions
From that come topics with up to three questions each, the way customers ask an AI before they buy: “Which providers for … are there in …?” or “What is the best … for …?”. They never contain your brand name, because they are asked the way someone asks who doesn’t know you yet.
A second model reviews the topics, drops those without buying intent and rewrites questions that are too generic. If your market is broad, the questions carry your niche, audience or region; otherwise the AI only names the big players. You can add up to three questions of your own, and those are always checked.
Asked live: Gemini with web search
Every question goes to Gemini 2.5 Flash individually and live, with web search switched on. So the AI answers with what is on the web today, not just its training data. If Gemini is overloaded, GPT-4.1-mini steps in, also with web search.
Claire looks for your brand in every answer, including other spellings, and records the position at which you are named.
Who is named instead
From the same answers Claire reads which providers the AI recommends and how often. So you don’t get some generic competitor list, but the companies that come up ahead of you for exactly these questions. You can name up to three competitors yourself; they always appear in the comparison.
A real example
A real result: named in 8 of 18 answers.
Instead of a made-up sample, here is a real result, anonymized: the check of an online shop for comfort shoes on August 14, 2026, German market. Of 18 buying questions checked live, the AI named the shop in 8. The comparison shows whom it recommended as well, among them New Balance and Nike.
Who was named in the 18 answers
Online shop for comfort shoes · German market · Aug 14, 2026
| Brand | Answers naming it |
|---|---|
| The shop checked | 8× |
| New Balance | 5× |
| Orthopedic shoe brand | 5× |
| Nike | 4× |
| Barefoot shoe brand A | 4× |
| Barefoot shoe brand B | 3× |
| Barefoot shoe brand C | 3× |
Topic: foot-friendly shoes
3 of the 18 questions checked, verbatim in German, with translation
- “Wo kaufe ich fußgerechte Schuhe?”Where can I buy foot-friendly shoes? Not namedInstead: New Balance, Orthopedic shoe brand, Nike
- “Beste fußgerechte Schuhe bei Fußproblemen?”Best foot-friendly shoes for foot problems?Named, position 5Also named: New Balance, Orthopedic shoe brand
- “Welche Marke macht anatomisch geformte Schuhe?”Which brand makes anatomically shaped shoes?Named
Across 135 companies that ran the check between July 23 and October 8, 2026, the median brand appeared in 2 of 18 questions. 51 were named in none of their buying questions. An empty result doesn’t mean your offer is bad. It means the AI finds other sources for these questions.

What the result shows and what to do with it.
The result opens right after the check. You also get the link by email, so you can share it with your team.
Three numbers up front
In how many of the buying questions checked you are recommended, how many gaps are open, and an estimate of the share of purchase-ready AI queries that goes to others. Being named, but not first, counts as a partial loss.
The comparison with your competitors
Bars for you and up to six providers: how often the AI recommended each one. Competitors you named yourself are always included, even if the AI never mentions them.
Every topic with its questions
For each question: recommended or not listed, your position when you are named, and up to three providers the AI names instead. Where data exists, it shows how often the topic is asked in AI search.
You see five topics right away. If the check found more, Claire shows the rest after a free sign-up.
A plan for every gap
For each gap Claire suggests measures: pages on your website, such as a comparison or a guide for exactly these questions, and mentions in media and best-of lists that AI answers rely on. Plus an estimate of how likely the AI is to name you afterwards. It is an estimate, not a promise.
You can carry out the plan yourself or with Claire. The homepage shows how Claire does it.

Three ways to check your AI visibility.
No analytics tool tells you whether an AI recommends you. You have to ask it: by hand, with a free check, or continuously with a tool.
Ask it yourself
Open ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity in a new chat, ideally logged out or with memory turned off, so past conversations don’t color the answer. Then ask the way a customer asks who doesn’t know you yet:
- Ask about your category, without your name: “Which [service] providers in [region] would you recommend?”
- Ask the same question two or three times in new chats and note who is named every time.
- Ask for a comparison: “[competitor] or [your brand]: which is better for [use case]?”
- Ask for sources: “What is this recommendation based on?” That shows you which pages the AI reads.
The free check
Claire’s checker does the same automatically, with up to 18 buying questions from your market, live with web search, scored by mention, position and competitors. Good for a first baseline, in about four minutes.
Run the free checkTrack it continuously
AI answers vary. Whether your work pays off only shows when you ask the same questions regularly. Tools like Peec AI, Otterly.AI or Profound do that. In Claire, your questions are checked in Gemini and ChatGPT weekly or every two weeks depending on your plan, and Claire writes the content that closes the gaps.
GEO tools comparedFree tools
Readable is not the same as recommended.
Before an AI can recommend you, it has to be allowed to read your website. That is what the AI crawler checker tests. Whether it then recommends you is what the AI visibility checker tests. All three tools are free.
Which tool answers which question
| Tool | Answers |
|---|---|
| AI crawler checker | Can AI crawlers read your website, and are they allowed to? Under 1 minute, no email. |
| llms.txt generator | What would an llms.txt for my website look like? Under 1 minute, no email. |
| AI visibility checker | Does the AI name me when customers ask for a provider, and whom instead? About 4 minutes, with a work email. |
AI crawler checker: can the AI read you?
Checks your robots.txt rules for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended, firewall blocks, whether text arrives without JavaScript, noindex, llms.txt and structured data. Every finding comes with a fix for your CMS.
Open the AI crawler checkerllms.txt generator
Suggests an llms.txt following llmstxt.org, built from your sitemap and page titles and editable in the browser. It is an offer to AI tools, not a guarantee that they read it.
Create an llms.txtAI visibility checker: does the AI recommend you?
Asks what your customers ask and counts who gets named. A technically clean website alone is not enough for that: the AI names those who answer the buying questions and whom others write about.
To be fair
What the check can’t do.
A check is a snapshot. To read the result correctly:
It asks one AI, not all of them.
It asks Gemini. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google’s AI Overviews in search answer differently and are not specifically checked in the free check. Only if Gemini fails does GPT-4.1-mini answer. In Claire you track Gemini and ChatGPT continuously.
AI answers vary.
The same question may bring a different list tomorrow. A check shows where you stand today, not your average. To see progress, ask the same questions regularly.
It checks up to 18 questions.
That is enough for a picture of your most important topics, not every question in your market. An AI writes the questions from your website. If one is missing, add it yourself in the check.
Questions
Good to know.
How can I check my brand’s visibility on ChatGPT?
Ask ChatGPT, in a new chat and ideally logged out, the questions your customers ask when they look for a provider like you, without your brand name, and note whether you are named. The free check by Claire automates this with up to 18 buying questions, but it asks Google’s Gemini, not ChatGPT. Claire tracks ChatGPT continuously in the paid plans.
How can I check my AI visibility?
Ask an AI the questions your customers ask when they look for a provider like you, and count whether you are named and who is named instead. Claire’s free checker does this with up to 18 buying questions, live with web search, in about four minutes.
What is LLM visibility?
LLM visibility means how often and how prominently AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Gemini mention your brand when people ask about your category. You check it by asking the assistants buying questions and counting mentions, positions and competitors, once for a baseline or regularly to track progress.
Which AI does the checker ask?
Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash, with web search. If Gemini is down or overloaded, OpenAI’s GPT-4.1-mini answers, also with web search. The free check does not ask Perplexity, Claude or Google’s AI Overviews in search.
How much does the check cost?
Nothing. You need neither an account nor a credit card, just a work email address we send the link to your result to. We don’t accept free addresses such as Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo, because the check is meant for businesses.
How long does it take?
Usually three to five minutes. For 56 checks between July 23 and October 8, 2026, the median was 3 minutes 46 seconds. You don’t have to wait: we also email you the link to your result.
How reliable is the result?
The answers are real and fetched live. But AI answers vary from request to request, so the check is a snapshot, not continuous tracking. To see a trend, ask the same questions regularly.
How do I increase my visibility on ChatGPT?
AI assistants with web search rely on pages that answer a question clearly and on sources that mention you: comparisons, guides, best-of lists, trade media. So you need pages for your customers’ buying questions, mentions in your industry’s media and a website AI crawlers are allowed to read. That is exactly what Claire does.
