The short answer: Profound is the enterprise platform among GEO tools: it tracks up to nine AI search engines and comes with AI agents that research, write content and publish it to your CMS after approval. Profound doesn’t publish a price for brands, only a free seven-day trial. On G2 it’s rated 4.5 out of 5 from 1,130 reviews, by far the largest base in this comparison. In G2’s review summary and on Reddit, the price draws the most criticism.

Features
What Profound does.
Like the other tools, Profound measures how AI search engines talk about your brand: visibility, citations, sentiment and rank against competitors. Beyond that, Profound sees itself as a marketing platform. An “AI Marketer” and agents you build yourself research, write content, publish it to your CMS after approval and create reports, based on what Profound knows about your brand.
Profound is based in New York. In September 2026, the company announced a $180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation.

Features according to the vendor
- Answer Engine Insights: visibility, citations, sentiment and rank per AI search engine
- Prompt Volumes: what people ask AI search engines
- Shopping: visibility in ChatGPT Shopping (Enterprise)
- Agent Analytics: AI visitors and bots on your website, through connections to your CDN and analytics
- AI Marketer and agents that research, write and report, billed in credits
- Up to nine AI search engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search
- Enterprise with API, exports, single sign-on and SOC 2
The agents write content and publish it straight to your CMS, for example WordPress, Webflow, Contentful or Sanity. There’s an approval step before anything goes live. Agents are available in the trial with a few credits and on the agency plan with 400 credits per client workspace; more credits require an Enterprise package.

What users say. Ratings from four platforms.
Profound has by far the most reviews on G2 in this comparison. We couldn’t read them individually because G2 doesn’t allow automated retrieval. Strengths and weaknesses therefore come from the summary G2 shows in search results, the single review on OMR Reviews and Reddit snippets.

What users like
- Insights: users get a good view of how different AI search engines present their brand (G2 summary).
- Support and strategy calls are praised often (G2 summary).
- Pace: new features such as the agents, which turn the data straight into tasks (G2 summary).
What users criticize
- Price: the most frequently named drawback, especially for smaller teams (G2 summary, Reddit).
- Learning curve because of the large feature set, occasionally slow pages, exports that can’t be customized much (G2 summary).
- Coverage beyond English: according to the review on OMR Reviews (June 2025), the data covered English and only selected German prompts at the time.

Who it’s for
Who Profound is a good fit for. And who it isn’t.
A good fit for
- Large brands and enterprises tracking many markets, languages and AI search engines.
- Teams with budget who want tracking and AI agents for content from one provider.
- Companies that need single sign-on and SOC 2.
Less of a fit for
- Small and mid-sized companies with a fixed monthly budget. Profound doesn’t publish a price for brands, which makes it harder to plan for; in G2’s review summary and on Reddit, the price draws the most criticism.
- Teams that want to start small: for brands, the pricing page offers only the seven-day trial and Enterprise, no self-serve plan.
Claire fits if, like with Profound, you want tracking plus content creation, but at a fixed price from €299 a month. In exchange, Claire only tracks ChatGPT and Google AI, Profound up to nine AI search engines.

How we compared
Method and sources, as of Oct 5, 2026
- Compiled on October 5, 2026 by Claire (wordsmattr GmbH, Vienna). We offer an AI visibility tool ourselves and are therefore not neutral. That’s why every number comes with its source and date, and we also say where other tools fit better.
- Ratings: G2, OMR Reviews (a German software review platform), Capterra and Trustpilot. G2 doesn’t allow automated retrieval. Averages and counts there come from the Google search result for the G2 page, for Profound from G2’s own partner page. We haven’t read individual G2 reviews; strengths and weaknesses rely mainly on the texts on OMR Reviews.
- Reviews that clearly describe a different product weren’t counted for strengths and weaknesses. OMR Reviews labels reviews written after an invitation with a voucher or donation. That says nothing about individual texts, but it can raise the average.
- Reddit: direct retrieval is blocked. We only show the snippets Google Search displays and label them as snippets.
- Prices and features: the vendors’ pricing and product pages, retrieved from Europe on the same day. Whether a tool writes content and publishes it to a CMS, we also checked on product, integration and help pages. Some vendors show euros or dollars depending on your location. Prices change; the vendor’s own page is binding.
- Quotes: verbatim and shortened, with role, rating and date, without names. Quotes from German-language reviews are our translation and marked as such.
- Not done: our own hands-on test with a trial account. Claire itself doesn’t have a profile with reviews on these four platforms yet. We update this comparison quarterly.
